Aston Villa, that was recently promoted back to Premier League, after an intense playoff final with Derby County, announced the signing of Egyptian player Trezeguet. Mahmoud Hassan, who received this nickname because of having a similar playing style of former Juventus player David Trezeguet, was playing last season in Kasimpasa, in the Turkish league.
Currently 24 years old, Trezeguet was part of the Egyptian team that played
in the African Cup of Nations this Summer, playing all games, netting 1 goal
and 1 assist. He was also in World Cup 2018 last year in Russia, with the
Pharaohs.

Trezeguet started his career in his home country, playing in Al-Ahly. In the
Reds from Cairo he won the African Champions League twice.
His European experience started in Anderlecht, in 2015, but was during his spell in Turkey, with Kasimpasa that he started to impress.
During two seasons, the left winger made 71 apperances for Kasimpasa, scoring 25 times, with 18 assists to his name too.
This is Villa’s ninth signing of the Summer and has allegedly costed a fee of £8.75 million. The most expensive signing from the Birmingham club, a club record, was Wesley from Club Brugge. The Brazilian striker costed Aston Villa £22m. In total, the team has spent already more than £100m this Summer.
Besides Wesley and Trezeguet, Villa secured the signing of former loanee Tyrone Mings, from Bournemouth and El Ghazi, from Lille. Matt Targett (Southampton), Ezri Konsa (Brentford), Bjorn Engels (Reims), Jota (Birmingham) and Kortney Hause (Wolves) complete Aston Villa’s Summer rant.
Are the Villains repeating the – not so successful – Summer spending of Fulham last season? Will it work out or will they imitate Fulham and fail crawling back into Championship?
