Known for signing and developing young players as their trademark, Red Bull Leipzig has signed another starlet to their squad. Christopher Nkunku, 21-year-old French midfielder, who until now had made all his career in Paris Saint Germain, coming through the academy of the club, has joined the German team, a deal that was made official this Thursday.
Last season Nkunku made 20 games for the Parisian team, scoring 4 goals. He signed a contract valid until 2024 and he will wear the shirt 18 of the Die Bullen. Leipzig paid PSG €13M for the acquisition of the French youngster.
RB Leipzig, a team that was founded just in 2009 and climbed fast through the German divisions, due to the sponsorship of Red Bull, keep fueling their ranks with young blood year after year.
Although they lost winger Bruma to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven for €15M this summer, they also signed Hannes Wolf, from their parent club in Austria, RB Salzburg. The club has already booked a place in next year’s Champions League, after ending in 3rd place in last season’s Bundesliga.
