Borussia Dortmund won the race for the signing of Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland. The youngster had been making headlines ever since his group stage campaign in Champions League, where he scored 8 goals in 6 games.
In total, Haaland scored 28 goals in 22 games so far for his former club Red Bull Salzburg. Dortmund spent 20 million to sign the young striker, who signed until 2024.
The youngster was also being targeted by Manchester United and Real Madrid, but he was keen on a transfer that allowed him progress and playing constantly.
Erling is 19 years old and was actually born in Leeds, England, as he is the son of former Leeds United defender Alf-Inge HÃ¥land. However, we was raised in Norway and he rose through the academy of fellow Norwegian side Bryne FC.
He was so impressive playing in the youth team of the club that he actually got his senior debut at just 15 years old. During this time, the youngster also had a trial in a Bundesliga side, Hoffenheim, but he failed to adapt.
In 2017, Molde FK, one of the top crest of Norwegian football, signed Haaland. He stayed for one and a half-season in Molde, where he scored 14 goals in 39 appearances.
Immediately in August of 2018, Red Bull Salzburg announced the young striker would join the team in the following month of January. His impressive campaign this season was enough for most clubs to sweep into his signing.

As one goes through the door, another one is on the way out. Julian Weigl has signed with Benfica on the last day of 2019. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder left Dortmund for €20M, a club he represented since 2015.
Weigl made 118 appearances for Dortmund during the past 4 seasons, scoring a total of 5 goals. He is also a Germany international, having been capped 5 times already.
Julian Weigl has a release clause of €100M and it is likely that you will see Benfica making a profit from a future sale.
